Follow these step by step instructions to learn how to make a beautiful wood mirror frame and shelf for your home. First, cut the styles and rails to length. Assemble with glue and clamps. Cut the back and filler strips to length. Sand and assemble. Add a mirror adhesive to the back and set the mirror in position. Cut the shelf parts to length. Secure an end and a hanger to the ends of the top. Drill a countersunk hole for a wood plug for each screw to hide the screw heads. Attach the end and hanger using screws and glue. Cut one inch pieces of dowels that match the diameter of your countersink. Glue them into each hole and trim them flush. Repeat this for the short top. Attach the trough to the bottoms of the hangers. Sand. Attach the bottom of the shelf to the two ends using glue, screws and plugs. Clamp the shelf to the mirror frame. Drill pilot holes for the screws that secure the frame to the shelf. Drive the screws. Remove the screws, sand, and apply a stain and finish of your choice. With all the parts, you can being assembly. Center the mirror back on teh frame and secure suing screws. Drill holes through back and start threading the screws through the back from so they stick out of the face of the frame. Slip a 1/4 inch spacers in the screws. Then slip a 3/4 inch spacer over the 1/4 spacer. Position your shelf and thread the screws into the holes you drilled on the back edge of the shelf earlier. To hang the mirror, place rubber bumbers on the back of the mirror. Attach a hanger and secure to the mirror frame. Attach the wall bracket to the wall. Place the mirror on the wall.
